But at the end of that two weeks, we'll get in a car, drive to New York, board a giant ship, and get underway.
The general itinerary is as follows: seven days on board, a few days in London for sightseeing and theatre, a stop in Cambridge to see some friends, and a good long stretch in Yorkshire. We're flying back with an overnight stay in Dublin (which is going to suck, clearly) and touching back down at the end of the month.
I can't say I ever thought I'd spend my 30th birthday being feted on an ocean liner, with my amazing boyfriend by my side, and on our way to spend two weeks in England, but as that's how it's playing out, I have to say I can't think of another way I'd want to have it.
I'll be using this blog as a way to keep everyone up-to-date on our travels and adventures--and most certainly, on the food we'll be eating. Look for touristy pictures, descriptions of meals, and general gushing at every opportunity.
For now, though, I'm just going to take deep breaths and keep counting down.
